Kusum Ashok Kumar Vishwakarma, Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Kusum has always been passionate about renewable energy, nature and, technology which paved the way for her choices and time spent in academia and energy industry. She is been in the renewable energy space for over a decade now, which provides a strong foundation for technical innovation within a renewable energy company.
With a BSc in Chemistry and MSc in Sustainable Engineering : Renewable Energy Systems & Environment from the renowned University of Strathclyde - UK, Kusum started her career in Engineering consulting & Project management firms in the capacity of a Sustainability Engineer, supporting in low carbon/energy efficiency projects. She chose to combine her technical skills & experience with a degree in Global energy management from Strathclyde Business School, accredited by the Energy Institute in London. This developed her understanding & knowledge about the energy markets & economics, and business structures. Her work experience at organisations like Office of Gas & Electricity Markets (Ofgem), Scottish Environmental Technology Network (SETN), Centre for Energy Policy (CEP) inspired her visionary leadership in founding a successful renewable energy company that showcases the power of combining technological and academic research with a passion for sustainability.
In the early stages of her career, Kusum’s collaboration with one of the first programmes of Scotland called ‘Women in Renewable energy Scotland’ (WiRES), played a pivotal role in advancing her professional aims & objectives. Her participation at the Conservative Science and Technology Forum at the House of Commons to discuss ‘the future of the tidal energy in the UK’ - an event chaired by John Stevenson MP & Rt Hon Claire Perry MP, motivated Kusum to delve deeper into the political sciences domain. This helped her in combining her existing applied skills to her ongoing interdisciplinary doctoral research in Energy Policies.
Kusum's narrative embodies the transformative power of education, innovation, and visionary leadership. Last but not least, she draws inspiration from her reputable father Mr. Ashok Kumar Vishwakarma, who has carved a niche for himself as a successful businessman with his sharp business acumen and relentless dedication towards his work till date. Also, that’s where AK Urja Synergie Pvt. Ltd., derives its prefix AK from.
Pritam, Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Pritam's journey with a BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from SRM Institute of Science and Technology to Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to international academia reflects his prowess in complex engineering challenges. Pritam's most notable professional engagement was with the ISRO, where he worked as a Project Engineer. He was a part of a ground breaking project focused on the development of an experimental rover. His role in developing an experimental rover underscores his ability to apply electrical engineering principles to real-world projects.
Pritam pursued Masters in Electrical Power Engineering from esteemed Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University in Russia and subsequently earned another masters degree from Brandenburg University of Technology in Germany. These international experiences further enriched his knowledge base and provided him with a diverse perspective on engineering solutions. His contributions extend beyond technical achievements. Moreover, Pritam's visionary mindset is evidenced by his involvement in projects ranging from designing high-voltage power transmission lines with minimised environmental impact to creating efficient DC-to-DC converters for photovoltaic applications.
These endeavours reflect his dedication to sustainable technology and his commitment to engineering solutions that positively impact the world. Pritam’s role as a CTO will be of strategic importance to the company and critical in equipping us to deliver value to our clients and powering the future.
Santosh A Vishwakarma, Managing Director (MD)
Santosh is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, with over 12 years of complex machining experience in the industry. He has extensive experience in a Chief Operations Officer & Director roles at Proficient Industries India Pvt. Ltd., one of the leading manufacturers of Dished Ends, Expansion Bellow and Industrial Metal cones that find wide application in all types of Power plants (Hydro-Thermal-Nuclear), refineries & Defence industry.
He has effectively lead several challenging projects within the business and played a significant role in maximising the performance of Proficient Industries Pvt Ltd., till date. He holds a considerable profile within the Mechanical Engineering industry with a demonstrated history of delivering exceptional quality work to his clients like Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Thermax, Alfa Laval to name a few.
Santosh is a versatile hard working strategist, highly skilled at understanding emerging technologies with the ability to define, manage, develop and deliver innovative solutions. As a Director & Partner at AKUS, with his strong business acumen and expertise in the engineering industry, Santosh will continue to deploy his great depth of commercial, organisational and project management experience to ensure that the business delivers for its clients.
